Dr. Metcalfe was born in Brazil and lived in France prior to moving to the United States with her family when she was young. She played competitive volleyball in high school, winning two back-to-back state championships as the captain for her team. She then attended the prestigious Bowdoin College in Maine, where she graduated with a degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Utah, where she achieved her Masters of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Science. She then moved to Atlanta, where she continued performing basic science research at Emory University prior to attending medical school.
She believes that Urogynecology is about restoring form and function, and ultimately, improving a patient's quality of life. Her compassionate and honest approach makes patients feel comfortable throughout their treatment experience.
Outside of work, Dr. Metcalfe enjoys spending time with her husband, a Plastic Surgeon, and their kids. They love exploring the outdoors, trying new restaurants, and discovering new places.
